Yes, absolutely. If you give us a call on 01503 265221, you can choose anything from our menu and place a pre-order for collection at a specific time. However, unfortunately we do not operate a delivery service.
Do you cater for people with dietary requirements?
Yes! We have gluten-free options. We also have vegetarian (and some vegan) options. We generally have plenty of vegetarian options on our specials menu, too. See our FB page for specials and deals.
Is there parking near your shop in Looe?
Yes, we are conveniently located. There are plenty of free parking spaces outside our fish and chip shop in Looe, so you shouldn’t have any trouble at all when you come to purchase or collect your food.

Try Something a Little Different
When we opened our doors to sell fish and chips in Looe, we wanted to give our customers something more exciting. We do sell the traditional fish and chips (with a light and crispy batter) and the normal ‘chippy’ items such as sausages, chicken, fishcakes etc. However, at Ben’s Plaice, you will also find items such as loaded burgers with pulled pork, onion ring or brisket of beef toppers and posh dogs to name a few.
Our weekly specials fly out of the door. Follow us on our Facebook page, where you can see our ever-changing specials menu and read about the deals on offer. When available, you can get your hands on monkfish, scallops, lemon sole and other fish. Try our bargain boxes with ½ kilo of chicken boneless tenders, with a big box of chips and southern fried gravy, or dirty fries with various toppings…
Keeping it Local
It is important to us to source the best produce and ingredients from local Cornish sources wherever possible. Most of our fish is locally sourced from Looe and is MSC certified, as the fishery meets standards for sustainable fishing. Our cod is Icelandic, from fresh, deep water as it is the best quality you can buy. Seasonal potatoes for our chips are sourced directly from a local farmer in Downderry, in a bid to support the local community. If burgers are your go-to, our dry-aged steak burgers are sourced from an award-winning butcher, Philip Warren Butchers in Launceston.
Unlike some takeaway establishments, we do not charge extra for eating-in. Our eat-in facility is a relaxed, informal affair – simply collect your order and find a seat! Weather permitting, you can also sit at tables and benches outside – maybe try a gelato from our self-serving FWIP machine!

Visiting from Lancashire and our native chippy game is strong, so we know what we are talking about!!! Ben’s fish and chips are the best we have ever had! The batter was sensational. We couldn’t get them back to Duloe quick enough!! A must visit if you are in the area.

I’ve been waiting to visit Ben’s Plaice since they opened! …Tonight, we visited and thoroughly enjoyed our meal! Super friendly and helpful staff, and freshly cooked food. The selection of food available on the specials board is impressive, as I’ve never seen so much choice in a chippy before. Keep up the great work, and we look forward to trying out other dishes next time we pop in!

Convinced to drive a little further to get the best fish and chips around. Did not disappoint, brilliant fresh crispy cod and chips, mushy peas and homemade tartar sauce. Lots of ‘loaded’ alternatives too as toppings for chips if you fancy something different. Good kids box options, cold beers in fridge and ice cream machine too. Highly recommended.
